Arterberry Maresh Dundee Hills Rose 2019

Third generation winegrower Jim Maresh is fashioning some of the Willamette Valley’s finest and most sought-after Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. Maresh’s deft touch resonates in this superb rosé, a proprietary blend based on Dundee Hills Pinot Noir. Casting a pale watermelon hue from the glass, the Maresh rosé casts a gorgeously floral nose of rose petals, gardenia, and jasmine blossoms. Notes of strawberry, golden raspberry and blood orange emerge on the palate accented by suggestions of dried herbs, rhubarb, and rose-scented potpourri. Long and distinctive, the wine finishes with reprises of fresh jasmine, orange zest, and rosewater. This is a fascinating Willamette Valley rosé that delivers superb aromatics and an unusually complex palate expression for a sub-$20 tariff.
