Eola-Amity Hills, Willamette Valley, OregonEvesham Wood’s La Grive Bleue (Western Bluebird) is sourced from organically farmed vines on the Evesham Wood estate. Transparent ruby in the bowl, Evesham Wood’s La Grive Bleue opens with classic Eola Hills aromas of black raspberries, black cherries, violets, and cloves. The wine is bright and generous on the palate, alternating waves of black raspberry fruit with complex notes of smoky minerals, tobacco, cinnamon, and allspice. Clean, focused, and impressively restrained, the wine finishes with fine, gripping tannins, and a hint of French oak. This is a lovely Eola Hills Pinot that drinks great right out of the chute but shows the poise and reserve to improve for another three to five years. Enjoy with classic Northwest fare, especially broiled salmon, rotisserie chicken, wild mushrooms, and quail. Look for the little bluebird in the lower right-hand corner of the label!
