Roero, Piedmont, Italy
A guiding light for the renaissance of quality in the Piedmont’s Roero district, the legacy of the late Matteo Correggia shines brightly with this reference standard Arneis grown on sandy soils northwest of the Langhe. A pale lemon-gold color with green inflections, Correggia’s 2020 Arneis shows the grape’s exotic facets, offering striking aromas of juicy peaches, apricots, passion fruit, mint, and jasmine. Vibrant and zesty on the palate, Correggia’s Arneis continues with rich, ripe expressions of honeydew melon, kiwi, and yellow peach fruit infused with sandy minerals, ginger, and tarragon. Notes of fleshy apricots and juicy peaches reemerge on the wine’s long, floral finish, leaving the palate lingering with echoes of fresh mint, almond blossoms, and flinty, sandy soil. Enjoy this lovely Arneis now and over the coming year and with all things seafood, fried squash blossoms, young cow’s and sheep’s milk cheeses, and white pasta preparations.
Organically grown.
