Employing old vines and organic farming, Musto Carmelitano is fashioning deep, soulful expressions of Monte Vulture’s deep, spicy volcanic soils. The estate’s Maschitano Rosso casts a transparent rusty ruby color alongside aromas of Bing cherries, menthol and perfumed soil. On the palate, velvety cherry fruit merges with firm tannins and suggestions of bitter medicinal herbs before segueing to a long savory finish that revisits ripe cherries, spicy volcanic soil and chewy Aglianico tannins.
